Why We Love It

The Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt is a scenic and relaxing paved trail that spans 11 miles through the heart of Scottsdale.


Riders can enjoy views of lush greenery, desert landscapes, and local wildlife, while also passing by parks, golf courses, and other attractions along the way.


A fairly flat path, it’s perfect for e-bike riders of all skill levels.


When To Visit

The Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt is open year-round, but temperatures can soar well over 100 degrees in the summer!


Be sure to check the weather forecast and plan accordingly.


Which E-Bike Classes Are Allowed?

Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are allowed on this multi-use path. Class 3 e-bikes, which can reach up to 28 mph, are not allowed on this trail.

Why We Love It

The Arizona Canal Path is a beloved multi-use trail for cyclists and pedestrians alike.


The full length of the path is nearly 70 miles long, winding through multiple cities including Peoria, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, and more. You can choose to ride any section of the route, or bring spare batteries and tackle it all!


The path is primarily flat, making it accessible to riders of all levels, and provides scenic views of the surrounding desert landscape.


When To Visit

The Arizona Canal Path is open year-round, with access to the path available from dawn until dusk.


While the path is generally well-lit, it's always a good idea to bring proper lighting and reflective gear if you plan to ride early in the morning or late in the evening.


Which E-Bike Classes Are Allowed?

Since the Arizona Canal Path is a shared-use trail, Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted.


However, it's important to keep in mind that the path is also used by pedestrians, so be sure to ride at a safe speed and yield to foot traffic when necessary.

Why We Love It

The Grand Canal Path spans 23 miles from west of Phoenix to south of Scottsdale. It follows the route of the historic Grand Canal, built in the late 1800s to help irrigate the Salt River Valley.


The multi-use path features a flat and well-maintained surface, making it a great option for any e-bike rider.

The Grand Canal Path is open year-round, with access from dawn to dusk.


Which E-Bike Classes Are Allowed?

Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted on the Grand Canal Path, as it is a shared-use trail. Be aware of (and yield to) pedestrians, who are also using the path.


Yes! You just need to know about some restrictions regarding where your e-bike is allowed.


  • On multiuse paths and sidewalks, Class 1 and 2 e-bikes are allowed — Class 3 are prohibited. However, no e-bikes are allowed on the covered sidewalks in Old Town Scottsdale!

  • Class 3 e-bikes are only allowed on streets with vehicle speed limits 40 mph or under, and in bike lanes on those streets

  • On roads with speed limits over 40 mph, no e-bikes allowed

  • Helmets are encouraged, but not required
