Premium 3 Torque LS

Wife rode it twice for total of 1.1 miles before front tire developed a severe leak & went flat. Turned out to be a thorn. Putting the wheel back on was a royal PITA because the front forks didn't have even 0.25mm of gap before the black spacers, so had to have another person pull them apart so I could slide the axle in. Magnum should use Slime tubes. Now that we have a working bike with both tubes filed with Slime, hopefully all will go much better.

I feel like I really did my homework before taking the plunge on my first ebike and literally created a spreadsheet to be able to compare all the features and pricing between about ten different models. I settled on the Magnum Premium 3 Low Step and am loving it thus far. Here's why I chose this model: - I'm a petite 5'2 female and this bike is scaled well to my proportions. - I did get to take it for a test ride when I happened to be visiting Scottsdale, AZ (Nick was extremely helpful and patient with me). Many ebikes are direct to consumer and it was helpful to examine the quality up close. - I drive a Mini Cooper and did not wish to invest in a bike rack. This model folds and fits nicely in the back with seats down. In addition, if you remove the battery it weighs about 50lbs which is just at the limit of what I'm able to lift without help and it was difficult to find another ebike with the same specs that was this light. - The tires are fat (3") but not as fat as many of the others (4") in this category. It does help make it feel more stable. - As a result of my research, it seemed hydraulic brakes would be a step up from disc brakes - I prefer thumb throttle to twist and think I'll be less likely to accidentally engage it - Integrated lights, fenders, display, and rack standard (some other's charge extra for these upgrades) - They've partnered with one of my local Portland bike shops. By shipping the bike there I get to 'support local' and it was worth it. They assembled and quality checked the bike, disposed of the packaging, offered free tune-ups and servicing. - I've tested this on some very vertical hills and did not even need to take the assist beyond the second level to tackle the incline with ease. I'm calling it my 'attention getter' as it also turns heads. It's winter here so I've only taken it out a handful of times. However, I never get far before at least one person stops me to ask about it.

I decided on premium 3 low step because of it being able to easily fold. I have the bike about two weeks and love how it rides. You can feel the quality of the construction. I hope to get plenty of exercise on this bike.

Love the extended riding range of the battery and softer ride of the wider 3"tires. However, the kick stand is very difficult to adjust and in the factory preset the bike stands in an almost straight up position making it susceptible to being easy knocked over by a gust of wind.

Great bike for the older generation... I had switched from serious bicycling to motorcycles 20 years ago. I wanted to get back to bikes but given my age, safety and ease were important to me. After hours and hours of youtube research I settled on the Magnum Premium II step though. What a blast!!! Im doing 20 miles every morning and immediately noticed an improvement in my energy level all day long. Great to get an anaerobic boost. The bike is wonderful. Given the off road trails around me, Please Magnum, make a fat tire version too!!!

Love my Magum Premium II Low Step... Purchase my Magum on 5/11/2021 I rode it for 20 miles on the Comet trails in Atlanta, GA. I have a Brompton Electric and Gocycle GX this Magnum hands down has the best ride. If you need extra speed you have it. Its a heavy bike but you will get use to the extra weight. Power assist levels engage as soon as you start to pedal, keep your hands on the breaks. Make sure you adjust your handle bars to fold your bike correctly. Cables can become tight if handles bar are to high. Magum built to last, And price point is very good compared to a lot of folding bikes.

Fun bike... I bought the Magnum Classic as after riding both it and the premium I didn’t see any need to pay so much more for hydraulic brakes. The mech brakes work great. It and the Magnum Premium are identical otherwise. Rides well, even on light trails and gravel. Climbs most anything but you do need to downshift to the lower gears and increase assist to 6. Hills are fun! My big complaint is that that it really doesn’t have a low speed. If you touch the throttle or pedal at all you are zooming along. Even in PAS 1. The difference between PAS 1 and PAS 6 is not all that much. All the assist levels are pretty aggressive. Exciting but sometimes you want to go slow but still have some assist. I would much prefer that PAS 1 be toned down as it is too fast for some trails and gets tricky to ride. There is a difference between levels but PAS 1 is like three on most bikes. I love the twist shifter and it shifts so smoothly you barely notice. Display OK and fairly intuitive. Wish it had a latch for keeping it folded and a bumper between the folded parts to slow chafing the paint. The thumb throttle is ok but is sensitive. I like twist throttles better but love that it can be easily removed to make the bike a class 1. Battery slide is kind of flimsy but works well and locks easily. Wish I could remove the key while riding as I worry about breaking it off. It’s well hidden but still a concern. Other than that very happy. It fits easily in the back of my Honda CRV and in fact I could put two in there without folding the back seat down. Actual measured weight is 46 lbs without the battery, battery weighs 10 lbs. I’m 69 years old and can load it pretty easily.

Magnum Premium II HS

73 year old 100% disabled veteran back on the road... Excellent buying experience I ordered my Premium II Step Thru online and it was shipped the next day. Thebike arrived and the throttle levere was broken. I called and Jennifer shipped a new one. Great customer service. The bike rides great. My longest ride is 12.5 miles. I used PAS 1 and 2 and only used 1 bar. Next day did a 11 mile trek with PAS1 and 2 and had three bars remained. Third day went 6 miles same setup and 1 bar left. 30 miles and juice left. I am very happy with the mileage I feel confident that I can achieve 40 miles. 5th day I decided to ride throttle only. Used 2 bars for 10.1 miles which convinced how well PAS works. 6th day woke up to 2 flats and now I have work to do.

WOW!!! This bike was well worth the wait.... Ordered bike early June and received late August. Absolutely stunning!! Attention to detail everywhere. Had to get used to 500 watt motor after getting off my home built 1000 watt bike. No problem, just have to plan for the hills. Got my wife a bagibike b10 and there is no comparison!! I upgrade my magnum and fix her bagibike. May be another magnum in our future. Put Schwalbe Big Ben plus tires on my low step. Changed grips, seat and pedals. Made the bike perfect for me. DO NOT buy any other 20 inch folding bike!!

Joy back into my wife’s life... This is our second Magnum ebike purchase. I purchased the Magnum High Step for me a few months ago and love it. So, we purchased the Magnum Low Step version for my wife. Because my wife has an aortic aneurysm and cannot exert herself beyond a certain blood pressure level this bike is perfect. She can adjust the peddle assist to her comfort level and now we are biking together. The bike has brought tremendous joy back into my wife’s life. Thank You

So far pretty happy with the bikes. They fold pretty easily which makes it relatively easy to pack 2 of them in tha back of our small Volvo V50. Ride is smooth and batteries seem to last 40+miles with some pedal assist.

Excellent Folding e-Bike with Great Power and a Stable, Comfortable Ride.... The Magnum Premium 48 High-Step folding bike is well made and robust with a nice compliment of included accessories. An important option, which was one of my deciding factors, was the 16 Ah battery (Samsung cells). Most of the other bikes that I was considering had lower battery capacity. Another deciding factor was that Magnum has a US presence with a main office in Utah and a number of US dealers. Also, Magnum was very helpful and forth coming in responding to my several e-mails and a couple of phone calls both before and after I bought the bike. The Magnum Premium arrived folded and fully assembled (except for the pre-assembled seat and seat post). It was boxed with a minimal amount of protective foam and, while the box had been badly handled by the shipper, the bike was not damaged. It could not have been easier to get it unfolded, the seat installed and the battery on the charger. I was off and riding in short order without the battery after some minor adjustments-- tightening bolts and the kickstand using the provided hex keys and screw driver. One display cable was unplugged, but easily plugged back in. Accessories included on the Magnum Premium are mag wheels, a nice rack and AAA battery powered lights. The mag wheels are unusual, giving the wheel more rigidity and requiring less maintenance than "spoked" wheels. These wheels are mounted with 20" x 2.125" (57-406) road tires that have a reflective stripe and Kevlar protection. Of the e-bikes that I had considered, the 2.125" tire size placed the Magnum squarely between similarly outfitted, 4" fat-tire bikes and more urban oriented designs with narrower wheels. Like many of its fat tire brethren, it has a suspension fork and a shock absorber in the seat post. Like the urban bikes, it has full coverage fenders with mud flaps and the aforementioned rack. Riding this bike is a pleasure. It is fast and secure. PAS=6 in POWER mode gives a steady 24-25 mph on the flat with a moderate cadence. My ride routes are very hilly with several steep (7 to 10% grades) and long hills (0.5 miles). Plus, I'm a big guy (220 plus lbs). Using a 20 mile loop of this terrain as a test route, I was able to get 25 miles on a battery charge in POWER mode and PAS=6. With NORMAL mode using PAS=5, it was 27.7 miles; and with ECO mode using PAS = 4 it was 34 miles. The average speeds for these three rides were 20.8 mph, 19.8 mph and 18.21 mph respectively. With a bit over 200 miles on the odometer, I think this bike is a very good balance of power, comfort and range. As I've gotten acquainted with the bike, here are some highlights that have been particularly compelling in support of choosing it. Below that is a list of some less satisfying features. Especially Noteworthy (PROs) in decreasing order of importance: Excellent ride geometry for a tall person. Seat to pedal max of 35" was just right for me (6' 1"). The bike is not the least bit "Squirrely" at speed. Feels very secure. Two inch wheels are a good choice for road and trail. The 2.125" tires (CST C1213N Wire Bike Tire), suspension fork (RST Carve) and seat post shock make for a very smooth ride. Cool mag wheels - no spokes to adjust or break. NOTE: The Bafang hub motor is integrated into wheel. Flip-up seat (Selle Royal Look-in), makes battery removal easy and leaves the seat post height alone. PAS selections cycle, press the up key in PAS=6 and it goes back to PAS=0. Very quick response to pedaling and to stopping pedaling (sealed, 12 mag sensor). No lag either way in POWER mode, some lag in ECO mode. The throttle (Das-Kit trigger throttle) works with PAS=0. You can ride very controlled in this mode, pedaling without assist and use the throttle as needed. The throttle ramps on at a nice rate, no surprises or lurches. Inhibitors engage before the brakes (Tektro levers; Promax discs). This lets you stay neutral in a tight turn without the PAS kicking in if you pedal. The twist shifter (Shimano Revoshift) for the Shimano Tourney cassette is great in this application. You twist one way as you slow down climbing then twist the other as you speed up and level off. Two trip odometers on the display (Das-Kit C6). One resets automatically, the other manually. Good for keeping track of the miles per battery charge. It rides very well as a conventional bike without the battery except for the narrow gear range. Surprisingly, the extra weight compared to my other bikes was not a big factor. The rack is very nice with a spring clip and standard 10.2 mm framing. A 180 mm front disc (Promax), 160 mm rear. The tires have a reflective stripe. Annoying (CONs), in decreasing order of importance: Low top gear (75 gear inches*). You top out with no resistance in high gear too soon riding PAS. High low gear (37.5 gear inches*). This is annoying when riding without the battery when you need to climb a steep hill. The plastic Wellgo pedals fold too easily. I've keep hitting them when mounting and folding one or the other. The display gives limited ride data-- time and distance. No average speed, max speed or cadence. The kick stand is in the way of pedal rotation. Very limited on-line manual (PDF) with incorrect information on using the display and no information on accessories or suspension components. There are no bosses for a front rack or bottle cage. It's five pounds heavier than advertised (60.69 lbs including the 9.17 lb, 16Ah battery). Mechanical brakes rather than hydraulic. The headlight (Spanninga Galeo) at 4 lux output is for visibility to others, not for riding at night. The lights are not powered from the battery nor controlled from the display. * NOTE: Low gear of one conventional 20" folding bike is 24.3 gear inches and the high gear is 80. A fast road bike with 700c wheels might have a low of 28.6 gear inches and a high of 128 or more.

Magnum Premium ll... Magnum Premium ll low step is well built, easy to pedal, compact in designs with power that will surprise you first time ride,(hang on!) I chose this model with hydrolic disc brakes, mag style wheels, and flat black paint.I put eleven miles on my first ride out, what a blast !!! Ride up a lot of hills to see what the bike was capable of NO PROBLEM ! My first E-Bike , I made the right choice.

Great bike... I bought this while vacationing near Santa Monica- had it shipped to New England. I had been looking for an electric bike for several years- the Magnum step thru foldable is outstanding- I ride it with no pedal assist at times- very smooth. I usr pedal assist- very easy to use and you can use for a slight boost or, as a rocket booster. The accelerator comes in handy more than expected. I’ve been bike riding for over40 years- best bike- ever !

1000 miles in...still going strong... We bought his-n-hers Magnum Premiums and have had them for 13 mos. Have put just over 1000 miles on one, and just u der 1000 on the other with no problems to report other than a fiddly fender (needed some fine tuning so wouldnt rub on those meaty tires) and a pedal which needed replacement. Handled cheerfully under warranty. These are very well made bikes which get compliments frequently and are fun to ride! We use PAS 1 most of the time and routinely average over 60 mi per charge. (The included thumb-throttle is a must have on any ebike in my opinion for safety’s sake if nothing else)

WOW! My 1st Electric Bike... I went into a local electric bike dealer to do some research as my husband has wanted one for a while and I thought I would surprise him for his birthday. As I had never tried an electric bike before the associate in the store told me I should at least take a test ride so I knew what riding one felt like - and yes, after that ride, up hill, down hill, flat surface, I knew this bike was mine! It is so much fun to ride and for a small bike it has a lot of pep! I did get my husband one as well, the Magnum Metro and we pick his up next week. Most fun Ive had in a long time!... I love this bike. It makes me smile every time I get on it, and I ride much more often than before, even though I had a comfortable 10-speed. I know I can go anywhere on the bike, and use the power assist to help me get up hills, or give me a break when Im tired. This bike will take me comfortably into my retirement, and allow me to get around town without using the car. I cannot say enough about how much fun it is to ride!

I am so happy with my purchase... I looked for a foldable electric bicycle that could carry my weight (250 LBS) and I took a chance on this amazing Magnum Premium 48 folding bicycle. It easily carries me up the steep hill outside my house and now when i commute to my office (10 miles distance) is the best experience ever! Highly recommended
